Saddleworth is one of the most amazing scenic locations in the United Kingdom. It comprises several villages and hamlets on the west side of the Pennine hills. Travelling through Saddleworth you can visit many places like  Austerlands, Delph, Denshaw, Diggle, Dobcross, Friezland, Grasscroft, Greenfield, Grotton, Lydgate, Scouthead, Springhead and Uppermill.

With lots of exciting things to do from hill climbing to long leisurely walks through forests, you can be sure that there is something that will make you return, time and time again. Entertainment is something of a norm for these parts with busy schedule all year round.

From time to time we will publish a list of upcoming events so that you won’t miss out. Maybe the famous Yanks Weekend, set as a backdrop to the 1979 film “Yanks”  a drama film directed by John Schlesinger and starring Richard Gere, Vanessa Redgrave, William Devane, Lisa Eichhorn and Tony Melody. The film is set during the Second World War in Northern England and features no combat scenes.

During this weekend there are many attractions taking place and on Sunday 12th August in the village of Uppermill, there is a fly-over of a Lancaster Bomber.and on the same day there is one of the largest military parades in the North of England that will make its way through the village from noon. Indoor and outdoor vintage craft and military stalls, static displays, vehicles and dancing. On the Saturday night there is the 1940s evening dance.
